Alex changes in this book by experiencing his friends death.That death really changed the whole trip because Alex thought it was going to be all fun and games because he was going to china but he didn't know the crisis that was going on in china.They took that trip for granted and they would have never expected that to happen.The theme for this book is never take anything for granted.

The quote in my independent reading book is "never underestimate anything".....because Alex Jackson and his father think that the trip to china is going to be all fun and games but really they experience a lot of horror and death because Alex experiences his friend killed.This can relate to lifestyle because there's a lot of people out there that underestimate a lot of things and when it comes down to it, it gets harder and they don't expect what happens to them.

My character Lonnie Jackson changed because he loved the game of basketball and out of nowhere he was losing his love for the game not because he didn't like playing,because he was all caught up with school and all this other drama.Everyone that knew he had game didn't want him to stop playing because if Lonnie kept on playing he would probably make it big,But Lonnie was confused but he got everything together and played at the championship game and his team won and he was glad he played again.

HOOPS

My #4th independent reading book is called "HOOPS".When I saw the book it caught my eye because its about basketball and it has a guy jumping to the dunk the ball.It's about Lonnie Jackson and his journey to the NBA or to not follow his dream and give into the the pressure.Cal(Lonnie's coach) doesn't want Lonnie to give into the pressure because Cal had the chance to make it to the NBA and he sold out and gave up.Now when the end is coming they have to make a decision on the big game either sit Lonnie and his dreams to go away or let him play and showoff his skills and probably make it to the NBA.

3rd Independent Reading Book

My third reading book is The Bronx Masquerade i choose it cause it seems intresting,the cover caught my eye cause it has a kid just looking up into the sky and he's just walking through an alley.What I like about this book is that all kids in Mr.Ward's class have a little thing called open mic friday.The kids write poems and they read them in front of the class and some of the kids wrie private stuff and there not afraid of expressing it in front of everybody.What i want to read is how everything goes with the characters cause there expressing they're selfs good.What I have learned about the first two books are that you could make it in life without your parents but it's hard because you have to keep it lowkey.It shows that you could be something in life if you put your mind to it.
